Black Forest Brownie Bars

Ingredients
Bars:
4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
3/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 large eggs
1 c. packed light brown sugar
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

Cherry Cream Cheese Filling:
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
4 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 1/4 c. powdered sugar
1 c. dried cherries, finely chopped

Chocolate Drizzle:
2 oz. semisweet chocolate chips
1 Tbsp. whipping cream

Directions:

Bars:

1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Melt chocolate and butter in a small saucepan or in the microwave, stirring until smooth, Cool.

2. Combine flour and salt in a bowl. Set aside.

3. In mixing bowl, beat eggs until fluffy, about 1 min. Gradually beat in brown sugar. Add cooled chocolate mixture and vanilla. Stir in flour mixture until blended. Stir in walnuts and chocolate chips. Spread batter in a buttered 13x 9 in. baking pan.

4. Bake for 20 to 22 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack.

Cherry Cream Cheese Filling:

1. Cream butter and cream cheese in a bowl until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in vanilla and powdered sugar. Stir in cherries. Spread mixture evenly over brownie layer. Refrigerate until set.

Chocolate Drizzle:

1. Melt the chocolate chips and cream over low heat or in the microwave. Cool slightly. Dip a fork into the mixture and drizzle over the cherry layer. Chill until firm. Cut in 2x2-in. squares. Refrigerate until serving time.
